Google Gemini Advanced with NotebookLM Plus

This trial evaluation is designed to introduce participants to Google's Gemini Advanced and NotebookLM Plus and gather feedback on their usability, features, and overall effectiveness. Participants will engage with both tools over a defined period, applying them to real-world tasks and workflows. The primary outcome of the trial is to collect structured feedback that will help assess the tools’ potential for broader adoption, identify strengths and weaknesses, and inform future decisions regarding their use.

Trial Activites

Participants in the trial will have access to a variety of activities designed to support exploration, learning, and feedback collection. 

• Digital Resources: Self-paced, on-demand materials such as a dedicated resource webpage, video tutorials, user guides, feature descriptions, and additional resources to help participants get started and navigate Gemini Advanced and NotebookLM Plus.

• Challenges: A series of themed challenges for staff, faculty, and researchers to encourage active use and creative exploration of the tools. Winners will be invited to present their solutions at the Fall 2025 CIO’s Webinar. 

• Open Q&A Sessions: Scheduled drop-in sessions where participants can get real-time help, ask questions, and troubleshoot technical issues.

 

Trial Timeline

Week 0: Resource Development

• Finalizing self-paced digital resources, tutorials, and support materials for participants.

Weeks 1–2: Onboarding

• Participants gain access to tools, receive onboarding guidance, and explore available resources.

Weeks 3–10: Engagement & Support

• Via Google Chat
  • Ongoing Q&A and community discussion
  • Launch of themed challenges for staff, faculty, and researchers

• Via Zoom
  • Optional drop-in Open Q&A Sessions for live support
