Technology Innovation at Fresno State

 

 

 

The Innovation Team is a new resource at Fresno State, aimed at supporting and enriching technology research and development for the campus and community members. This multidisciplinary team is a hub for identifying opportunities to bring innovative ideas and technologies to the university in both Academic and Administrative areas. We provide tools, resources, and expertise to create technology solutions aligning with the campus strategic plan to promote better student outcomes, improve the student experience, and create better efficiency in administrative processes.

Mission

The Innovation Team was created and charged to provide research and development toward bold initiatives advancing the mission of the university. The team will partner with colleges and schools to address needs for future research and innovation technology.

Supports Campus Priorities 1, 2, 3, 4:  Foster bold innovation with transformational technologies in teaching, learning, and academic administration through proactive engagement and partnership with campus constituents to best support student success.

Opportunity

Innovation is a rocky shoreline of uncertainty that takes careful navigation and confidence. This tends to mean that most of our IT resources are not spent on innovative projects, but on "keep the lights on" activities to prevent existing systems from breaking down. Under the leadership and vision of the Chief Information Officer, the Innovation Team brings energy and enthusiasm to explore cutting-edge technology and engages with key stakeholders within the Technology Services and the University to identify and understand opportunities for IT technology innovation.
