Data

This form is to request access to any of the three data areas: student records, HR records, or financial records.

There are a number of systems on campus that rely on information and/or data extracts from an external source system such as Oracle PeopleSoft. The destination systems using this data may be on premises or on the cloud. In many cases data extracts include sensitive, confidential and/or level 1 data.As per Fresno State’s Data Classification Policy (Policy No. H-12), each organizational unit must have a designated Information Owner (Data Owners). These Administrators are responsible to ensure the appropriate protection and use of data. A Data Authorization Request/Approval is now required before developing/implementing the logistics to extract and/or import data from/to the source or destination systems. All data requests should be entered on behalf of the Data Manager and approved by their respective supervisor and then the appropriate Data Owner. Please select yes below if you require assistance on this form.

Infrastructure

Technology Services maintains network hardware firewall services at our Internet gateway, Health Center, Data Center and remote sites. A firewall is a filter for network traffic, being either network (hardware) or host (operating system) based. Depending on which types of traffic it allows or blocks, a firewall can reduce the risk of unwanted network intrusions ("hacking") as well as limit the spread of viruses and other computer security compromises.
